The Magicians_UK_s02
In 2011, The Magicians was the UK's most watched new entertainment show, and it's back for series 2 in the New Year, with a show-stopping new format, a sexy new host and an astonishing line up of magicians.
And this time it will be live. It's the first time in 30 years that a primetime magic show has been transmitted live.
Magic duo, Barry and Stuart, return to the series and are joined by magicians Pete Firman and Latimer. Each magician will be paired with a different celebrity partner each week. Together they will perform four illusions, from the classics to the never-attempted before, from nowhere-to-hide street magic to show stopping grand illusions and high pressure close-up.
All the acts will be put to the viewers' vote. The magician and celebrity partnership with the fewest votes will then have to face a live and dramatic forfeit "The trick-that-no-one-wants-to-tackle"
The Magicians 2 also has an exciting new host in Scottish born Darren McMullen, in his debut UK primetime presenting role.
Who has the skill and the will to win each show and who will be forced to face the forfeit? Find out live, on BBC1 from January.
This show will launch on Saturday 7th January and airs until 11th February 2012 with 6 episodes on BBC1 at 6.35pm.
