David Ambler is Executive Producer in charge of MasterChef, MasterChef Professionals, Celebrity MasterChef and Junior MasterChef. As Head of Programmes at Shine Soho he also exec'ed The Box, the Chefs Protege and two series of Mary Berry – Absolute Favourites and Foolproof Cooking – which he also directed. Prior to joining MasterChef in 2006, he series produced and directed many award-winning factual and features shows including Project Catwalk, Property Ladder, Bad Lads Army and Get A New Life – as well as natural history, science and social documentaries for broadcasters both in the UK, the US and his native New Zealand. In 2010 he won a BAFTA for MasterChef – The Professionals.
